Kiwi Organics premium range of organic products have been sold in New Zealand and Australia for many years and they comply with all New Zealand Government regulations for organic and gluten free produce.

The grains are milled to order using traditional machinery, so that the naturally naturally high nutritious qualities and freshness remain.
Absolutely no additives, chemicals, or preservatives are used. In dry milling, maize grain is firstly cleaned of dust, husk and other foreign materials. Before dry grinding, the fine flours are degermed. After grading, it is ground dry in the mill. Next it is graded, sifted and packed. It is a truly traditional art.

All product can be supplied in 5kg, 10kg, 20kg, 25kg bags, or in 1 tonne bulk bags.

Corn Grit
Produced by coarsely gritting the whole maize grain through the degerminated maize milling system into large particle grits.
USES: Corn Grit is used as an ingredient in the manufacture of cornflakes and snack foods (e.g. corn chips).

Polenta Chips

Polenta
Produced by milling the whole maize grain (corn) through the degerminated maize milling system into a gritty-textured meal, then sifting out the bran and flour.
Italians love this type of polenta.
USES: Mix with vegetable stock, water or milk. Add margarine or cheese of your choice. Eat hot or set in a pie dish and fry with a light brush of oil. Top with your favorite toppings. Feta, basil and sun-dried tomato are great!

Cornmeal
Made from the kernel of the grain this is a truly great product.
USES: A perfect baby cereal! Use for breakfast as a porridge, lunch as a quiche base or as a potato/rice alternative for dinner. Roll fish or sausages in as breadcrumbs. This is a great way to start cooking with polenta.

USES: This is a special Kiwi Organics Brew designed from their products which is the perfect crumb or coating before frying or baking your chicken, pork or fish. Simply roll it straight into the crumb or roll the meat in egg first. You will be thrilled at the golden, crunchy and healthy coating. Seasoning may be added to your taste if required.

Organic Popcorn (unpopped)
Corn, also known as maize, is a cereal grain. Popping corn (or popcorn) is a type of corn which explodes from the kernel and puffs up when heated. Corn popping was originally discovered by Native Americans who believed that the popping noise was that of an angry god who escaped the kernel. It became popular as a snack food during the United States Great Depression, especially in movie theatres, and continues to be enjoyed today when watching either the big or small screen. 'Air-popped' popcorn is naturally high in fibre, low in calories and fat, contains no sodium, and is sugar free. This can make it an attractive snack to people with dietary restrictions on the intake of calories, fat, and/or sodium. For those who want added flavour, oil and some seasoning/spices may be added.
USES: Cook traditionally with a dessert spoon of oil/margarine to a tablespoon of popping corn. No flavouring is needed.

Whole grains contain all three parts of the kernel-bran, germ and endosperm. Bran, the multi-layered outer skin of the kernel that protects the germ and endosperm, contains anti-oxidants, B vitamins and fibre. Germ is the embryo, which, if fertilized, will sprout into a new plant. It contains many B vitamins, some protein, minerals and healthy fats. The endosperm, by far the largest portion of the kernel, is the germ’s food supply, providing essential energy to the young plant so it can send roots down for water and minerals.
Refining, such as flour milling, normally removes bran and the germ, leaving only the endosperm. Without bran and the germ, about 25% of a grain’s protein is lost as well as a number of key nutrients, although processors add back some vitamins and minerals to enrich refined grain.
According to the Whole Grains Council (WGC), if a food label states the package contains whole grain, the “whole grain’ part of the food inside the package is required to have virtually the same proportions of bran, germ and endosperm as the harvested kernel before it is processed.

Believed to originate in China over 1000 years ago, buckwheat is a broad leafed plant grown in many countries around the world including North America. It is not a true cereal grain but botanically classified as a fruit that is closely related to rhubarb. Buckwheat provides one of the best high quality protein sources in the plant kingdom. It is also a good source of magnesium, potassium, zinc, phosphorus, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and fibre. Kiwi Organics buckwheat is a true wholegrain and mixes to a silky smooth dark batter.
Use it alone or add to other flours for a lighter colour.
